The Internal Martial Art Eight Zhan Zhuang Techniques is based on the information from the Bagua Symbol. The order of the Internal Art Eight Zhan Zhuang Technique is the same as in the Bagua Symbol. They are heaven, earth, wind, cloud, dragon, tiger, bird and snake. Internal Martial Art Eight Stance actually has nine stances. From the perspective of the positioning, Heaven, Earth, Wind and Cloud Stances are correlated to the four directions and Dragon, Tiger, Bird and Snake Stances are correlated to the four corners. From t he perspective of the martial art offense and defense, Heaven, Wind, Tiger and Bird Stances are the offense and Earth, Cloud, Dragon and Snake Stances are the defense. From the perspective of the hard and soft powers, the Yang Stances (Heaven, Wind, Tiger and Bird) are emphasized on hard power. Although it is hard, it must have soft power component. Yin Stances (Earth, Cloud, Dragon and Snake) are emphasized on soft power. Although it is soft, it must have hard power component. From the perspective of the opening and closing, the Dragon, Tiger, Bird and Snake Stances are the opening and Heaven, Earth, Wind, Cloud and Wu Chi Stances are the closing. From the perspective of the height of the stance. Heaven, Earth, Dragon, Bird and Wu Chi Stances are the high stances, Wind, Cloud, Tiger and Snake Stances are the medium stances. From the objective of the training, Heaven, Cloud and Wu Chi Stances are emphasized on cultivate the qi and from cultivation to attain good health and longevity. Earth and Wind Stances are for practicing the qi and accumulating the internal power. Dragon and Tiger Stances are for the eyes and spirit. Bird and Snake Stances are for the feet and body balance.
